Glas Chalaidhean (pronounced Glass Shahallion) is the home of The Crafty Kitchen, and is a three bedroom bungalow located in the settlement of Arle, mid-way between Salen and Tobermory. Although only built in 2018, it has been designed following traditional Hebridean lines.

Nestled at the base of Speinne Mor and only 200 metres from the shore, Glas Chalaidhean boasts stupendous views of the Morven hills across the Sound of Mull, a busy route for ships, boats and mammals of all sizes, and is surrounded by birds, deer, Hebridean sheep and ponies.

There are three strands to the business captured in the strap line: Home : Health : Hospitality, these are reflected in the provision of accommodation through the BnB and short term room lets; the creation of various crafts items and  home made produce; a warm welcome and quality food.

Glas Chalaidhean  is run on sustainable, environmental and ethical principles so everything is locally sourced where possible or can be tracked with food miles as low as possible. Where locally produced goods are not available, everything is fairly traded.

Waste is kept to a minimum and whatever can be recycled: is.

Food intolerances and preferences can be catered for if identified on your booking form.

Glas Chalaidhean is accessible throughout, with ample parking and a bus stop at the end of the drive.

So a very warm welcome awaits you, whatever the length of your stay.

I look forward to seeing you
